Multiple Resistance in Clinical Isolates of Escherichia coli and Plasmid-mediated Quinolone Resistance Genes

چکیده

Quinolone antibiotics have been commonly used to treat cases of multiple antibiotic resistance. Unfortunately, quinolone so much resisted by infectious bacterial agents. This study aimed evaluate the susceptibility some clinical isolates E. coli and determination plasmid-encoded resistance genes.
Our results showed plasmid quinolone-resistance genes in following prevalence: qnr genes: S (71.4 %); B (15.4 (12.1 aac (6) lb-cr (4 Efflux oqxA (7.7 oqxB (25.3 qepA (5.5 %). We conclude that there is a high frequency Plasmid-mediated Escherichia from samples South-Eastern Nigeria. These could be responsible for incidence reported Enugu. There need whole-genome sequencing map out all genes.

Plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance in clinical isolates of Escherichia coli from Shanghai, China.

Although quinolone resistance usually results from chromosomal mutations, recent studies indicate that quinolone resistance can also be plasmid mediated. The gene responsible, qnr, is distinct from the known quinolone resistance genes and in previous studies seemed to be restricted to Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli isolates from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where this re...

Emergence of the plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance gene qnrS1 in Escherichia coli isolates in Greece.

Three major groups of the plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance (Qnr) determinants have been identified so far in Enterobacteriaceae: the QnrA group, which includes 6 variants, the QnrB group, which includes 19 variants, and the QnrS group, which includes 3 variants (5). Although Qnr proteins produce only low-level resistance, they provide a favorable background for higher resistance to occur a...

Prevalence of plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance in Escherichia coli isolates in Wenzhou, Southern China, 2002-2008.

A total of 514 consecutive clinical Escherichia coli isolates, irrespective of resistance background, were collected in the period 2002-2008 in Wenzhou, southern China, to investigate the prevalence of plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance (PMQR). The dominant PMQR gene was aac(6')-Ib-cr, followed by qnr, whereas qepA was absent. A total of 253 (49.2%) of these isolates were aac(6')-Ib-positive...

Detection of plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance genes in clinical isolates of Enterobacter spp. in Spain.

We have studied by PCR and DNA sequencing the presence of the qnrA, qnrB, qnrS, aac(6')-Ib-cr, qepA, intI1, and ISCR1 genes in 200 clinical isolates of Enterobacter cloacae (n = 153) and E. aerogenes (n = 47) consecutively collected between January 2004 and October 2005 in two hospitals located in Santander (northern Spain) and Seville (southern Spain). Mutations in the quinolone resistance-det...
